Online In-house Training

Why should you consider Online Training for your organisation?

Is your organisation specialised, with its own particular employment law issues?

Do you have lots of staff you’d like to attend a particular course?

Do you have a need to train your managers on key issues such as Performance Management or how to run Disciplinaries and Grievances?

If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, online in-house training could be the solution. Sherrards can run a course tailored to the issues your organisation faces and deliver it via a webinar on the Zoom platform for up to 30 attendees at one session.

All of our courses are suitable for learners of all levels and all our trainers are practicing employment law solicitors, providing you and your team with training that reflects knowledge gained at the coalface! Courses we currently offer include:

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

An area of increasing importance for all organisations, our course takes delegates through the Equality Act in a lively and engaging presentation, with lots of case studies and examples.

Designed to help HR Professionals and line managers across all industries to understand why it’s good business practice for organisations to promote equality and diversity and also the legal implications of E,D & I in the workplace.

How is the course delivered?

Delivered by a collaboration between an experienced employment law solicitor and a diversity specialist, the training will cover all of the following topics;

         Direct and indirect discrimination – what is the difference and why does it matter?

         Disability discrimination

         Harassment and managing “banter” in the workplace

         Case law

The online course will be delivered in a 2.5 hour session via Zoom. Within this there will be a short coffee break. There will be ample time during the training for live questions and debate. The delegates will also be able to ask questions in the chat function of the session and these will be covered by the two trainers as the session progresses. The course is very interactive and will be supported by relevant and thought provoking videos and case study discussions.

Employment Law Essentials

As lockdown measures continue to ease, and the country returns to work you may find that some of your HR team or line managers are in need of some practical training to remind them how best to handle HR/employee issues they may face in our current and ever changing work environment. As a response to requests from clients who have asked for such training we have designed a new, updated course in two parts called “Employment Law Essentials”.

This new course covers all the essentials of employment law including;

Part 1

How unfair dismissal works

Discrimination law

Harassment, and how to avoid it

Handling requests for flexible working

Handling Short & Long Term Sickness Absence

Part 2

Disciplinary procedures

Performance management and capability

Handling grievances

Variation of contractual terms

Redundancy and Restructuring

The online training course will be delivered in two parts on separate dates (to suit your requirements) with each session running for 2 hours on Zoom or a similar platform. Within this time there will be one short 15 minute coffee break half way through the session. There will be ample time during the webinar for questions and answer. The delegates will also be able to ask questions in the chat function of the webinar and these will be covered as the session progresses.

Benefits

• The course will ensure your HR team and managers will be well informed and confident about handling HR challenges that will arise as employees return to the workplace after the lockdown.
• By the end of the course all delegates will have learnt how to deal with the most important aspects of UK employment law in a very practical, interactive way. The delegates will also understand how their organisations’s procedures work in the context of the law.
• Excellent training can lead to increased job satisfaction, motivation and morale among your managers/teams and increased efficiencies in your internal processes and procedures.
• The live Q and A sessions within each session will allow your delegates to get immediate answers to their questions and they will leave the webinar more informed as a result.

All topics are illustrated by real case studies and examples, and active audience participation is encouraged.  All attendees will receive a detailed delegate information pack.
